Making brands more distinctive

There’s a part of my home town where the antique and second hand shops are based. I’m sure it’s similar in other cities.

Recently, with the advent of Sunday morning cupcake shops frequented by braying wannabe hipsters in tastelessly humongous 4x4s carrying pavement-width buggies for the ironically named Lulu and Arthur, there’s been a upsurge of shops that offer “upcycling”. Its seems that second-hand or refurbished is no longer good enough for some.

I find the banal gentrification of some of the most interesting bits of our towns and cities cringe-worthy. Bah.
