With the budget coming up it is interesting how the seriously wealthy are often defended from political attack by some who will not even entertain the idea that those on low or middling incomes should be able to complain about the lack of control over their wages.
I wonder if there is a fear that if the very wealthy are taxed more or seen as in some way negatively controlling access to wealth then this attitude will eventually trickle down to the more comfortably off?
Does this then lead to the petite bourgeoisie spending a disproportionate amount of time defending those with more wealth than them not for any great ethical reason but through an ingrained fear that the great unwashed may be come for their little nest egg too after they’ve finished off the rich?
It would be interesting to see if there is any academic research into opinions at both ends of the scale. Anyone know of any?
