Lord Freud- disability comments

If an individual or employer wants to provide work for people of varying abilities then it may cost more or less depending on the skills and abilities of those being employed. For the hard of thinking – This is the same whether the choice is between the able or disabled.

To suggest that the disabled have a lower value that can be defined by an hourly rate, without recognising that variance in disability is as great as the variance in ability, is a bit dim. The minimum wage is not a measure of ability.

Quite a few of the recently disabled continue to serve in the armed forces and even fly as PPLs. Maybe some of the apologists for Lord Whatsisname would like to pop down to their local barracks or airfield and offer some below minimum wage work to them and see the reaction they get.
